1990 In Brief

Dance Outs

First May Day Morning with Brackley Morris, followed by our first visit to the Teesdale Thrash up in Barnard Castle.  We were almost the only token Cotswold side there.  We  suddenly realised we needed a processional dance, to cover the mile from the Bowes Museum up to the Castle.  Some hasty reorganization of Shepherds Hey and Chicken Chasing followed!

Sue reported it all via the Village News.

Through our 'contacts', we got to dance in the fast lane of the newly completed M40, complete with hard hats and shovels!

Otherwise a year of pubs and fetes and Days of Dance, including Stony Stratfords, which finished up at Cosgrove, where the jamming musicians were asked to shut up so the diners could hear the muzak!   We danced one night at the Plough at Upper Boddington and were recorded for the first time on video, by Dave Pegg  [Copy with John & Pat]

We start a tradition of Boxing Day tours.

Comings - and Goings

New joiners this year were John Braybrook, who joined initially as a dancer, but moved on to become Royal Oak's regular drummer;

I think Jill and John Tearle and family moved over to Shropshire some time this year.
